Access to COVID-19 Testing for Communities of Color

Amira Adawe interviewed Stephanie Graves who is with the City of Minneapolis Health Department to discuss about the collaborative COVID-19 campaign for the Somali community in Minneapolis. This is two days testing that started today, September 19th at 12:00PM – 5:00PM and Saturday, September 26th at 12:00PM – 5:00PM. Discussion on Colorism, Skinlighening Practices and Black Lives Matter Movement

Amira Adawe interviewed today Safiya Mohamed who is alum of the Young Women’s Wellness and Leadership Initiative (YWWLI). Safiya how she has experience of colorism, how it impacted her and her friends self-esteem, the practices of skin-lightening in the Somali community and taking part of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Safiya recently graduated from Central High School in Saint Paul, MN and fall of 2020 she will start studying journalism at University of St. Thomas.
